Red Cross youth and young adult classes empower the next generation to respond in the event of a natural disaster or emergency.

These programs align with the Red Cross mission to teach our community how to be better prepared. These programs are free to schools and other youth groups and can be taught stand-alone or in conjunction with each other.

  • Passport to Preparedness

30-minute presentation teaches youth to respond and take action if a natural disaster occurs in the community. Topics covered include house fires, earthquakes, other local hazards, and building a disaster supply kit.

  • Basic First Aid for Youth

30-minute presentation teaches youth the importance of knowing basic First Aid. Instructors demonstrate bandaging a cut, tying a sling, back blows/stomach thrusts if someone is choking, and why/how to call 9-1-1.

Information about other programs will be shared as well.
